KELLY SLATER’s new surf brand’s identity system
February 17, 2007

BXC created the logo design and identity system in collaboration with the Komunity team. This final design was selected out of about 9+ pretty solid concepts. The logo’s visual story is about people coming together, shoulder to shoulder. It also needed to be stenciled, stitched, PVC molded and look great on product.
This is the leash & traction packaging for Kelly Slater’s new brand Komunity Project – launched Spring 2007. The main design goal was to stand out in a sea of sameness and be environmentally responsible too. No plastic. The traction backer card is 100 % recycled post consumer waste and has a sick die cut logo so the grom (big and small) can tag the Komunity logo on their boards, car, whatever. All technical products are designed by Kelly Slater, Chris Pitts and an ever growing team. Packaging was designed by Christian Prollamonte and collaborated with Drew Dougherty of BXC.
A little video we made with Patrick Gadauskas.
This is the premier of Komunity Project’s booth at the Action Sports Retailer (ASR) and Surf Expo trade shows. The Hawaiian garage-themed booth was designed in-house by the M&D Group at Quick and they did a killer job bringing the Komunity team’s vision to life. The build out was done by The Exhibit Shop.

Dealer sales catalog design.

The BXC take on a flexible corporate logo usage guideline. Super simple.
